June Empties: Would I Repurchase?

“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of it to anyone else”

-Charles Dickens

Hello my lovelies!

Despite being on an involuntary no-buy for the past few months, I have managed to work my way through some product once again. The list is not long, but the words are many and I am excited to share my thoughts on all of these products after fully using them once again.

Let’s Get Started:

Garnier SkinActive Soothing 3-In-1 Moisturizer –

I originally purchased this moisturizer during my Accutane stint thinking it would be a temporary solution to the current problem at the time. Not only did this product help alleviate the dryness and sensitivity that I was experiencing at the time, but it kept my skin well hydrated and healthy post-Accutane as well. I have now returned to my tried and true Watermelon glow mask for nighttime use, but this unassuming garnier moisturizer definitely did wonders for my skin.

Maybelline SuperStay Multi-Use Foundation Stick –

I did a fun comparison blog post last year with this foundation stick against the L’Oréal counterpart, and while I don’t remember the results from that time, I do know that this is overall a very nice foundation, albeit a little too matte and drying for my skin on occasion. I do love and enjoy a matte finish for my combo/oily skin, but on occasion, this foundation erred on the side of a little too much.

L’Oréal Finallible Longwear Shaping Stick –

When comparing this foundation to the maybelline version, I did find that this stick foundation had a more naturally radiant finish, which generally looked much nicer on the skin. However, this foundation stick still had a habit of clinging onto any texture I was experiencing, leading me to conclude that while I did like this product very much, stick foundations as a whole do not want to be my friend.

Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-In-1 Foundation + Concealer –

I have heard many a tale about this foundation, some good and some bad. When I originally purchased my first bottle of this product, my biggest gripe was its shade range, with the lightest shade being much too dark for me. They have since increased their shade range and added two lighter colors, which gave me more opportunity to appreciate the product instead of being annoyed by it. While not matte, I really enjoyed the satin, full coverage finish of this foundation and did not feel caked on in the slightest, especially once I was able to find the right shade match.

Soap and Glory Kick Ass Powder –

This particular powder is supposed to be translucent, however I majorly disagree. So much so in fact, that I didn’t actually finish this product as I found it completely unusable. Instead of being a reasonable translucent powder for setting my concealer, this powder ended up being a very dark yellow on me. I do understand that this powder would actually work nicely for those with a darker complexion, but the idea of calling this product translucent, when it is clearly not, is ultimately what makes me not happy with this powder as a whole.

NYX HD Finishing Powder in Banana –

In contrast to the soap and glory powder, this powder specifically advertised as banana yellow, yet still worked for my pale skin. I loved using this powder with a damp sponge on my concealed areas to further highlight, and this powder did not create an unflattering yellow cast in those areas of my face. It also helped to keep those areas of my face a little more matte without drying them out, making this powder the clear winner for me in the comparison contest of two yellow-based powders.

Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder –

You all know by now how I feel about this product, and this is my third one that I have gone through. I absolutely love the finish of this powder, and it sets my makeup perfectly and keeps me looking flawless. I am not going to go into great detail as I have raved about this product plenty of times now, but if you have yet to try it, I seriously recommend giving this powder a try.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a special Saturday!
