April Empties: Would I Repurchase

Hello my lovelies!

I hope today is treating you well. I decided to post this a day late, as I wasn’t originally happy with my writing and wanted to spruce it up just a little more. This new job has definitely taken a little more of my time, which means that I just need to work on setting up a blog post writing session each week to make sure I keep up, as I do not want to slack the way I have been this week.

Let’s Get Started:

GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment Mask –

This mask is heavy duty, but I did really like the formula and what it did for my skin. Often times this mask could be a little harsh for the rest of my face, but using it on my nose to help draw out excess oil was my absolute favorite method, and it was very effective at mattifying that particular area of my face.

E.L.F Beauty Shield Recharging Magnetic Mask –

This mask is a very cool concept and very fun to use, but while my skin did feel softer after removing this mask, I cannot help but feel like it was slightly gimmicky otherwise. It is an incredibly fun mask that would make for a cute gift for a friend or a novelty relaxation item for yourself, but overall I would not purchase this mask if you are looking for real, very noticeable results.

Alba Botanical Acne Dote Clearing Gel Peel –

As a skincare enthusiast and expert, I really wanted to enjoy this at-home peel that targets blemishes. Unfortunately, with the only chemical component being 1% salicylic acid, this made for a very ineffective product overall. While I would consider it very user friendly for beginners, old pros like myself will not notice any major changes to breakouts, despite the presence of a BHA. My advice would be to save your cash, either for a visit to an Esthetician for a peel, or to purchase a safe and reputable at-home chemical peel that is far better quality.

Cetaphil Pro Oil Absorbing Moisturizer –

Admittedly, this moisturizer was an impromptu traveling purchase as I had forgotten my moisturizer at home. Unsurprisingly, I did find that this was a very nice moisturizer, as Cetaphil is a great brand for those just starting on their skincare journey. I also enjoyed that the product has an SPF in it, something that many skincare newbies do not consider when putting together a routine. While my experience in skincare extends way beyond using Cetaphil products, this moisturizer was still a great product and very beginner friendly.

Revlon Photoready Insta-Filter Foundation –

I have long noticed how mixed the reviews are for this product, but I am here to tell you that I found this foundation to be a great swing instead of a major miss. Despite the lightest shade still being too dark for me (as with most foundations), I really enjoyed the finish that this foundation had. I genuinely think this foundation looked like a natural, airbrushed version of myself and loved wearing it for photos and events. My only major gripe is the sponge tip applicator which I exclusively used to swipe on the product. I find this type of application to be highly unsanitary and was definitely not pleased with how the product was dispensed, but this did not sway me enough to dislike the product completely.

NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu –

This gloss was undoubtedly my tried and true product, and it still is. I love the pinkish nude hue of this gloss, which goes nicely with so many different makeup looks. I also enjoyed that this product has a shiny and glossy impact without being horrendously sticky. The longevity of this product is fantastic, as a little goes a long way, and the general color options throughout the entire butter Gloss product line is full of other beautiful choices.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a terrific Thursday!

Stay beautiful!
