Christmas With a Twist Eye Tutorial

“Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love”

– Hamilton Wright Mabie

Hello my lovelies!

I hope everyone who celebrated Christmas had a wonderful Eve and Day, and happy first day of Kwanzaa to all who celebrate. Oh, and happy Boxing Day. So many holidays, so little room in my memory. Good thing Hanukkah has already passed!

As I’ve mentioned previously, the holiday season tends to make me a little irritable. Not because anyone in particular makes it so, but I think that this time of year is something I easily become overwhelmed by. I don’t believe in the debunked notion of introvert versus extrovert because no human being is that rigid, but there’s something about the holidays that makes me seek out more alone time than ever throughout the year. I definitely embrace the holiday season more as I grow older, but rest assured that if you feel like this is a difficult part of the year for you, you aren’t alone because I’m right there with you.

Nevertheless, I still enjoy my family time, food, giving gifts and receiving them, I just have to take it in small doses. I also enjoy the precious amount of time I have off for such occasions, as my Esthetics program only allots three days off for the Holiday, much like your average job. While I absolutely love going to class every day and won’t miss it for anything, it really is hard to get motivated to be back in a learning mindset today.

I would love to know what holidays you all celebrate and how you celebrate them. Do you have any traditions for yourself or your family that you participate in every year during this time? If you celebrate Christmas, what aspects of it do you participate in? If you celebrate another holiday, what do you think is the most interesting thing about it? I find Western Culture to be so Christian-centric in regards to holidays, yet I’m always wanting to know more about how people celebrate the holidays during this time and what they celebrate, if anything.

I know that was a lot of holiday talk, but rest assured I do have a tutorial on this look dispersed throughout the post for you today, although it is a very simple tutorial.

Let’s Get Started:

The Eyelids:

  1. Prime the eyes with a primer or concealer that you prefer.
  2. Warm up the crease with a mixture of a mid-tone warm brown and a slightly darker burgundy shadow.
  3. Create a winged eyeliner with a dark red eyeliner or eye safe liquid lipstick that dries down completely. If not eye safe, use at your own risk.

  1. Apply optional gold leaf to the tear duct with lash glue.
  2. If not applying gold leaf, highlight the tear duct with a gold toned shimmer shadow.
  3. Curl and coat the lashes with mascara. Apply falsies if that’s your preference.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a wonderful Wednesday!

Stay beautiful!
