How To Fake Flawless Skin

“The key to being happy is knowing you have the power to choose what to accept and what to let go”

Hello my lovelies,

I don’t know about all of you, but my skin is far from flawless. I often get blotchy, I have acne scars in various stages of fading, and I’ve definitely still got a pimple or four scattered across my face. Luckily, all of these things are completely normal and okay. In fact, chances are that some of you deal with the exact same issues I’ve described. Nevertheless, sometimes we all want a good coverup for our skin to take on the day, and there’s no shame in that. Today I’m going to inform all of you on my foolproof tips for faking that #nofilter lifestyle.

Let’s Get Started

Pick a Blurring Primer –

Look for primers that list smoothing, pore filling, or blurring as a main benefit. Apply the primer only in areas where you might have some expected texture, such as the nose, inner cheek area, forehead, and chin.

Use a Blending Sponge –

Using brushes gives foundation a more full coverage application, but a sponge really helps the foundation melt into the skin. You’ll still look like you’re wearing foundation, but your face will have a more natural “movement” to it.

Use a Satin Finish Foundation –

While I tend to stick with matte foundations for my skin type, a satin finish foundation is still the best way to go. A satin finish tends to look much more natural and has just enough luminosity without looking dewy. If you are particularly oily or have combination skin, apply a matte foundation on the oily areas and cover the rest of the face with a satin foundation.

Focus the Product in the Center –

Because we often have most of our skin problems focused in the center of the face, it’s best to focus the majority of our base products in the center to keep the highest concentration of coverage there. It’s also the first spot we see when looking at faces, versus the sides of the face, so keeping coverage fuller in the center while fading out product on the sides is key.

Set the Base With a Finishing Powder –

I know many of you will be tempted to leave your foundation unset for a more natural finish, but this is they key to staying flawless. Leaving your liquid products unset allows the possibility of product movement and sliding, which can disturb the other products layered on top. At the least, set the center of the face where most of your product is placed.

Use Setting Spray With a Sponge –

Not only does this help your makeup last SO mich longer, but it helps to dissolve the powders and other product into the skin, creating a far more natural and flawless texture to the skin. Spray your setting spray liberally all over the face, then bounce your blender on the skin to lock in the spray with your beat.

Carry a TouchUp Kit –

No matter where you go, always bring a touch up kit if you want to stay fresh. A powder brush, powder compact, your lip product, and blotting sheets if you’re oily will do the trick. If you’re feeling extra, bring a little concealer along to do more detailed touch ups on the go.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a wondrous Wednesday!

Stay beautiful!
