“Filter all negativity to produce positive ripples”
-Cherie Roe Dirksen
Hello my lovelies!
It’s been a while since one of these has happened! I’ve finally gathered up some new products to test out in one sitting once again. I don’t have a lot to test out, but I definitely have some thoughts and opinions on the products I’ll be featuring today.
Let’s Get Started:
Foundation – L.A. Girl Pro. Matte Foundation:
This foundation was actually pale enough for me, which is something I rarely find in drugstore products. I really enjoyed the coverage level, and it didn’t cling to my dry skin or look patchy at all. It also didn’t sink into my smile lines as much as my other foundations tend to, and I talk a lot throughout my day. This was definitely a good way to start off the first impressions.
Concealer – L.A. Girl HD Pro Conceal:
I was off to a great start with the foundation, and then came this. I couldn’t even go through with fully applying this concealer, as it was WAY too dark for me, despite the fact that I bought the lightest shade possible. From what I could tell, the coverage and consistency were lovely, but the shade was a total bust for me overall.
Setting Powder – Sephora Collection Matte Perfection Powder Foundation:
I have been looking for a cheaper option to replace my M.A.C. powder, and I think this might do it. It’s the perfect shade and packs a lot of coverage. I did notice that there is a lot of fallout when I put my brush into the pan, so we will have to see how long this powder compact lasts and if it’s worth it.
Eyebrows – Maybelline TattooStudio Waterproof Eyebrow Gel:
I may have done this all completely wrong and I’m definitely going to try it out again, but from what I could tell, this gel did not stay in my brows after I washed my face. Aside from that, I really like the formula and opacity of this gel, and could easily use it without a brow pencil for a quick brow when I’m in a hurry. I’m not necessarily disappointed that it wasn’t waterproof for me, but that certainly would’ve been a cool feature.
Eyeliner – L’oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Liquid Eyeliner in Rose Gold:
This is such a pretty alternative to plain old black eyeliner, but it definitely takes some finessing. I LOVE the flexible felt tip of this eyeliner as it functions almost like a brush. However, the formula is slightly streaky and needs some assistance and layering to get it to full opacity. Despite the slightly extra amount of work needed, I really liked this eyeliner and it stayed put all day, never losing the shine.
Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara:
This mascara is super ok. I’m generally not a fan of rubber wands, however this one doesn’t bother me as much as many others do. The formula is fine, but not anything to get excited over. I did notice some volume to my lashes, but it was at the expense of some clumpiness and goopiness due to the formula. I tend to prefer a wetter mascara formula, but this one was a little too runny at times.
That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a wonderful Wednesday!
