“Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where others see nothing”
Hello my lovelies!
I’m hitting you up with the latest post tag that I have been included in. Emily over at Emilyburnsmua blog was kind enough to tag me on this little project, and I’m excited to be sharing all of my favorite items with you today. Thanks so much to Emily for the tag, and please be sure to check out her post as well, we actually have a lot of products in common.
Let’s Get Started:
Primer – L’oreal Infallible Glow Lock Illuminating Primer
I haven’t had this primer long, but I am already a huge fan. Since having dry skin, I had lost much of my belief in primers, but this one has restored my faith. I love the healthy-but-not-greasy glow it gives, and it does smooth over my pores quite nicely.
Foundation – Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Filter Foundation
I know that this foundation has been pretty hit or miss, but I am such a huge fan and it makes my skin look so completely flawless, it actually does remind me of an Instagram-perfect filter.
Concealer – Urban Decay All Night Waterproof Full Coverage Concealer
A few months ago, Tarte Shape Tape would’ve been in this spot. However, given that I can’t support a company that obtuse about shade range (looking at you now too, Benefit), Shape Tape is officially canceled. Here to take its place is Urban Decay’s All Nighter Concealer. I love the consistency and lasting power of this concealer, and I also love that it’s matte.
Loose Setting Powder – Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder
I always thought that Laura Mercier was the shit, but Maybelline did THAT. This is still borderline yellow for my skintone, but I love it and I always end up making it work, given that I set my face with another powder.
Pressed Setting Powder – M.A.C Studiofix Powder Plus Foundation
I can already hear some of you, “DoN’t SeT YoUr FaCe WiTh PoWdEr FoUnDaTiOn”, but if you deal with significant acne, scarring, or imperfect skin, you know why I do this. Plus, this doesn’t give me a giant layer of cake, despite the fact that I am a pancake connoisseur at this point.
Setting Spray – Milani Make It Last Setting Spray
I used to be a huge fan of UD’s setting sprays, but this one so knocks those out of the park for me. My makeup DOES NOT MOVE. This spray is basically magic, call Harry Potter.
Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer –
I actually hit pan on this bronzer about a month ago, and it was definitely an emotional time. I’m not pleased that PF can’t figure out how to make products for anyone that isn’t paper white like me, but I do appreciate that they make things for people as pale as me. This also smells like a Pina Colada and as a closet budding alcoholic, it brings me great comfort.
While I use blush in tutorials, I actually don’t put it on every day, and therefore don’t have something that I feel I can live without. I’ve got enough natural “rosiness” to last me the whole day.
Highlight – Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed “Champagne Pop”
It’s a golden highlight that doesn’t give me a gray cast! my compact is beaten to high heaven for how often I wear this highlighter, and since I enjoy looking like a disco ball on the regular, having this highlight in my collection has been a blessing.
Eyeshadow Palette – Marc Jacobs The Wild One
I know I keep raving about this and it doesn’t exist anymore, but I truly just can’t see myself without this palette now. There’s almost every color you would ever need, and it’s just bangin’ quality.
Liquid Eyeshadow –
I seldom use liquid eyeshadows and only own 3 single shadows, and while I love what I own, they aren’t anything that I would be completely heartbroken over not being able to stash in my kit.
Liquid Eyeliner –
Once again, I seldom use liquid eyeliner, as I feel it generally takes away from a gorgeous look, and therefore don’t own anything I would lose sleep over not being able to use.
Pencil Eyeliner – Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon in Blacquer
This is basically the easier eyeliner I’ve ever used and is also the longest lasting. It’s super black, great for tightlining, and great for placing a black base for darker looks. I’m just a fan.
Mascara – Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara
Marc Jacobs just does it right with the eye products. While Emily and I have the same fave, I have to disagree that the formula is drier, as I think it’s pretty wet, which is my preference. To me, a dry formula is Better Than Sex-esque, and Velvet Noir is borderline liquid liner to me. It literally does all the things for your lashes though, so whether or not we agree on formula, we can both conclude that this mascara is killer.
Brows – Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel
I don’t have super thick brows, but I have some long brow hairs that I could probably comb over Trump style, and they also fly in the wind and cause a mishap Trump style as well. Given the fact that I essentially have head hair on my face, I like to practically glue them down, and this gel is just short of having to use elmer’s glue.
I’ve mentioned this before, but I own over fifty lip products, so this is a situation where I don’t have a decent answer, other than I love them all, or they wouldn’t still be lingering in my collection.
Thanks so much again to Emily for nominating me. Much love to you!
That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a wonderful Wednesday!
