Royal Wedding Inspired Makeup

There’s nothing so kingly as kindness, and nothing so royal as truth”

-Alice Cary

Hello my lovelies!

In case some of you have been living under a rock, the royal wedding just happened recently. I’m going to be honest, I’ve never really taken an interest in the royal family or their weddings, but this wedding was a pivotal moment in royal history, so I had to tune in. If you’re confused about the significance, Meghan Markle is a biracial woman marrying into a white, traditionalist family, essentially bucking most of their traditions in the process. If that doesn’t scream woman power, specifically black woman power, I don’t know what does.

While natural, fresh faced looks aren’t usually my thing, I loved the fact that Meghan’s makeup artist paired a brown smokey eye with fresh, luminous skin. I loved the addition of her natural freckling, and decided to showcase some of my own for this look. The only thing I changed up was the lip color, as baby pinks similar to the one Meghan wore tend to wash me out.

I think that Meghan’s wedding makeup is a true testament to the fact that warm and cool toned colors can absolutely work together, especially for a brown smokey eye. I loved the “perfectly undone” vibe she had going, and while I’m sure Meghan was a giant flesh sac of nerves, her effortless look made her seem calm and collected on what might be one of the most important days of her life.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a wondrous Wednesday!

Stay beautiful!
