“I can see in what you call the dark, but which to me is golden”

– Helen Keller

Hello my lovelies!

First of all, I’m so sorry for my erratic posting lately. I have been dealing with a lot in my personal life, and I’m discovering that the Accutane dose increase is definitely messing with my emotional health. I am in no way suggesting that I am suicidal, but I am definitely reverting back to my previous ways of poor coping skills and general anxiety over personal problems. Hopefully I will get back on track soon, as I am trying to meditate and work out as often as I can in order to help combat this. Just know that I’m fine, everything is fine, Accutane is just rough.

I did not want to do a tutorial on this particular look, as I can’t see this as something that is reasonable to recreate, but I do want to explain how I used and removed the gold leaf, which you will see below:

I will be posting a more wearable version for my Seraph eye look while still incorporating the gold leaf. This is mostly because I just wanted to use the gold leaf again, as I thought it was so much fun to create with!

Let’s Get Started:

  • Gold leaf is very delicate and will fold on itself easily. I used faux gold leaf in my case, but this still applies.
  • If you are trying to create a certain shape, I would highly suggest using multiple tweezers to maneuver the gold leaf in order to maintain the shape.
  • I found it easiest to either rip off a small piece with tweezers or just my fingers. I alternated between the two methods, depending on how big I wanted the pieces to be.
  • You can use things like spirit gum to adhere the gold leaf to the face, however DO NOT use spirit gum when working on the brows. If you want to use spirit gum, you need to completely block out your brows with glue first.
  • I find that lash glue worked just as well. I would take a piece, paint it with some lash glue, and simply stick it on. The pieces stayed very nicely and did not move for the four hours I had this makeup on.
  • To remove the gold leaf, I would suggest using an oil-based makeup cleanser, as this is the gentlest way to remove the lash glue from the brow area. A makeup wipe will work, but you need to take a little more care in making sure you don’t create some accidental bald patches

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a magnificent Monday!

Stay beautiful!

I’m sorry to hear how Accutane is affecting things, but I hope all returns to normal soon! We support you 🙂 I love, love, love the gold leaf! I can’t wait to see more looks with it in the future. Have a good day!

Thank you girl ❤️. I’m definitely on the up and up now, but the initial small bout of depression definitely had me worried for a second. I’m sure it’ll come and go which isn’t my favorite, but I can handle it. Thanks so much for your support. It means a lot to me!

I’m so excited to explore more with the gold leaf! I’m so glad I got multiple colors to play with. Definitely check out the 300 count multicolor packs on amazon. Worth it!
