Accutane: Week 4

“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope”

-Martin Luther King Jr.

Hello my lovelies!

I can’t believe it’s been 24 days of Accutane already! I’ve noticed so much improvement, even some minor setbacks sprinkled in, during this journey up to now.

I had my first check-in yesterday, and while all of my blood work and the urine test came back with no abnormalities, my doctor chose to keep me on two 20mg pills for the next month because of my persistent eczema. I was slightly alarmed by this at first and worried that I would not be acne-free by the time my course is over if I don’t move up to 60mg today, but when you put it in perspective, most patients see full results in 3-4 months. In other words, I overreacted initially and later realized I’m fine, everything is fine, this is all fine.

I also just wanted to throw you guys a HUGE thank you. Since the start of this year, I have received more views, more engagement, and more likes than ever, and I’ve been doing this seriously for about a year and a half. My growth may be super small over time compared to most, but that’s good enough for me. It took me a year to just hit 100 followers. I hit 200 and now almost 300 in half of that, and that’s because of all of you. Thanks so much for joining me on this wild ass ride that is my life, and here’s to many more years ahead!

Let’s get started:

Day 19 –

My scarring is looking amazing! I see so much improvement with the combination of Accutane and my Good Genes exfoliant. This was the part that I anticipated the most when starting the Accutane process, and I’m glad the medication is making good on its word.

Day 20 –

Goodness gracious things are just going well. From afar this looks more like freckling than scarring. My eczema on my body is definitely still persistent, and I’m starting to see some actual signs of tightness on my face.

Day 21 –

Like clockwork, I manage to regress slightly once a week. My goal is to NOT do that during week five. This breakout was due to an expired product that I attempted to try, but luckily, my breakouts are peaking and receding much faster than they would have pre-Accutane.

Day 22 –

I decided to test the limits of my skin by putting on a clay mask to help with the breakouts, hence my red and irritated looking skin. I think it’s time to retire my clay masks for now, as they are clearly a little too harsh at this point. I will try to find something a little gentler to help with breakouts, as they will still occur in the future.

Day 23 –

The irritation is still sticking around from the bad product and clay mask, but the mask also helped with drastically reducing the intensity of my breakouts. They’re definitely beginning to heal by this point.

Day 24 –

After FINALLY get my skin under control again, I could not be more pleased with how the last 24 days have been. SO much improvement to my scarring, and my breakouts are disappearing much quicker, like a matter of days quicker. If this is what almost a month’s worth of 40mg does, I can’t wait to see what another month does, and the higher dosages afterward.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a wonderous Wednesday!

Stay beautiful!

Its looking good. I’m always annoyed when any medication doesn’t give an instant effect like I’d expect, but they are long term so hope it keeps going so well for you!

Also congrats on all the new followers! Mine has been a slow growing blog too and it’s always great when you get a lot of new people interacting with your blog ☺️

I constantly have to remind myself that this medication isn’t going to make me molt my skin off and generate a new layer 😂

Thank you! I’m so close to 300, and I just really want to get there by the end of the week. Slow growth can sometimes be the best growth, especially when it’s genuine people following me. ❤️

Yeah, it’s so frustrating at times when there’s not an instant change, like some some of miracle product advert thing.

Good luck! Hope you make it. I’ve been hovering around the 380 mark for 6 months now so aiming for 400 for my 4 years blogging later this year.
